Divano Squash

In designing furnishing elements, I have always sought typological innovation. In this case I wanted to create a sofa-divider capable of separating the dining area from the living room but at the same time able to enclose the space around the television. The back is, thus, “constructed” by the lower back support and is almost a wrap-around wall. The risk of a detestable monumentality due to large sizes is avoided by the table’s quotation of poor art and the legs in steel bar placed in perspective  to accentuate the object’s sense of lightness. The upholstery of the large back was created to allow for strong personalization of the product, as it could be replaced simply by pulling the long zip fastener which ran along the entire backrest.
